GamePlay

This is an official application but the developers ask for payment (around $3) for the storybook and a few mini-arcades on the like-named cartoon. The most fun is brought to the youngest fans by coloring pictures of dragons with a varied tool bar. Then you have the arcade shooting gallery with dragons for weapons. You have to target enemies and try not to hit the poor sheep mixing with them or you loose points. The shooting is fairly easy at first but then it gets trickier with faster moving enemies and a growing number of sheep. It is something of an arcade race with a sideways view where you mount a dragon, dodge all sorts of impediments and collect as many sheep as you can to reach the finish line first. The control system with that is very simple and all you need to manage is the height you're at by tapping the screen to increase it and letting go to do the opposite.

Graphic Design

The right amount of polygons and a detailed enough picture are topped with decent animation. No bugs noticed. The only thing is the scale problem: you fully appreciate all of the above on wider screens and not so much with the mobile size. The soundtrack comes from the cartoon itself and thus may be called a "DreamWork" ;)

Bottom Line

A fun project for Toothless and Hiccups' fans with no adds or donation involved which is a blast. However, the genre with a gameplay set just for a couple of days and the paid-for status are not logical, even though the product is of good quality.
