It is hard for the people of the modern society to look up from their phones and shut down their displays, stop giving their "likes" and start giving their love, as Gary Turk put it in his extremely popular video poem on YouTube called Look Up! Social networks have consumed our real life and are offering a very poor substitution to it. People do not take in their surroundings anymore. If you feel like you are one of these people, you might find an application called Forest: Stay focused useful. 

Features 

If focusing on studies or work and staying away from your device is your goal, then open this application right before you plan to start doing something productive. You will plant a virtual seed setting a time limit for its growth (from 30 to 120 minutes, the longer the time period, the more beautiful your tree grows). If you do not touch your device during the set interval, then your grassy clearing will have a tree upon it, otherwise, you will get dead-wood. This is how this app helps you see how much time you've wasted every day.
